Change of name

If you have recently changed your name we will require sight of documentation showing this, such as a change of name deed or marriage certificate.

This can be done by sending in the original document as proof or alternatively a certified copy as we do not accept photocopies or scanned copied unless they are certified.

To certify a document you can go to either of these professions or organisations. The person certifying the copy must state that it is a true copy, and then add their name, occupation, address, signature and date.

The following is a list of persons and organisations that can certify a document;

  • Bank or building Society official
  • Councillor
  • Minister of religion
  • Dentist
  • Chartered Accountant
  • Solicitor or notary
  • Teacher or lecturer

The person you ask should not be:

  • Related to you
  • Living at the same address
  • In a relationship with you
